Are we the only ones out there? The Catholic Church has not spoken definitively one way or the other. If we believe in a God, we cannot limit him, nor can we know his limitations. If he wills that there be other beings in other places, perhaps we just haven't met them yet.

So the Jews don't pronounce the Tetragrammaton because the Jews admirably considered it too holy to be uttered. But we as Catholics should proclaim and invoke the Holy Name of Jesus frequently, as long as we do so with reverence.

You are correct when you say that Holy Mass is one prayer. In fact, it is the greatest prayer there is because it is an actual participation in Jesus's supreme offering of himself on the cross that he made once and for all, right, once and for all.

The auricular confession. Auricular - oral. It is heard, it is spoken, it is heard in the presence of another. It is not the priest who forgives sins. It is Jesus who forgives sins through the church and its priesthood.

The people that have bad things happening to them, they don't deserve it. What they do deserve is the mercy of a God who lifts them when their down, shines light into their darkness, and even after death gives them new and eternal life.
